Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m 35 weeks pregnant and i have already started to dilate and my cervix has started to thin out already and I m not due until February 12th. I went to the hospital last week because i was having contractions 3-5 minutes apart. They gave me medicine to stop them. I also have an infection. They gave me medicine for it, but it still hasn t cleared up and I ve been contracting for the past 4 days on and off. I feel like i have to push when i use the restroom. And my baby hasn t moved at all today, but people tell me that s normal. Could i be in labor right now? I ve been 2cm dilated for a week and a lot of mucus discharge has been coming out for the past 4 days. Should i go to the hospital?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Based on the description, it would be advisable for you to go to the hospital promptly.
This is because, it would require proper monitoring for the progress of labor. It is safe in hospital, as any emergency call can be taken up quickly in case fetal distress is noted or the progress of labor gets prolonged.
Hope the information provided helps.
Regards,
Dr.Ashakiran.S.
