What Are The Symptoms Of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus?
I have some symptons of NPH and am on levadope 3x a day with some side effects. I likely will have a high volume lp soon. Parkinson s has basically been ruled out at this time as my only sympton is a minor gait disorder. No incontinence or memory issues. I just turned 80 and feel vital as I still practice law.Thoughts
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The symptoms of normal pressure hydrocephalus include urinary incontinence, unsteady gait and loss of memory. Each of these symptoms can occur alone or in combination. If normal pressure hydrocephalus is confirmed in your case, the gait issues are unlikely due to Parkinson's. You can discuss with your doctor regarding discontinuing levodopa and please be advised to undergo high volume lumbar puncture as scheduled .
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
