Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been wondering if I ve developed a sensitivity to nuts. I haven t had any really for weeks. The last time I remember eating nuts in quantity, I didn t eat for a couple days because of nausea - I even went to the doctor. I just ate a couple handfuls of mixed nuts 5 hours ago and I m having pain and nausea. I actually didn t really want to eat dinner and felt like I had some gas in me and tummy didn t really want food. I took some digestive enzymes before eating dinner but it s not taking away issues. Symptoms are worsening. Some acidy feeling, cramping pains in gut. Very uncomfortable. I would love to be able to vomit actually but it feels like it s in my gut right now. Last time when this happened and I didn t eat for a couple days, my appetite immediately came back when I took some pancreatic enzymes - Wobenzyme. Thank you.
In food items nuts are commonly found to cause allergies. While some people react severely, some others show only mild symptoms. Such symptoms may subside within some time, or may worsen and lead to more severe symptoms. It causes nausea, vomitings, abdominal pain, skin rash, itchy eyes, tingling, tightness of throat. As of now, there is no curative treatment for nut allergies. All you can do is to avoid exposure to the nut or nuts that cause allergic reactions. Mild reactions are often treated with medicines, like antihistamines. Hope i have answered your question. If you have any queries i will be happy to help you. Thank you.
