Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have recently had unprotected sex. The man I was with said he did not have any stds or stis. This was about 5 days ago. I woke up this morning with a bump on my lip that looks to appear as a cold sore or a pimple, I went to pop it and the liquid that came out was clear, this has never happened to me before. Is it possibly herpies?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of bump on lip after recently having unprotected sex which could be herpes simplex which is called oral herpes as it occurs due to coming in contact with infected person like kissing, sharing straws, using cloths and utensils .
Need not to worry. Symptoms will go away on their own in 1-2 weeks and apply ice pack to affected area 2-3 times a day. You should avoid hot and spicy food. Apply tea tree oil on affected area and drink plenty of fluids to maintain hydration. If symptoms keeps on persisting visit oral physician/ dermatologist once and get it examined. Doctor may prescribe antiviral drugs like oral/topical acyclovir.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
