Hi,I am Dr. Radhakrishna (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter has abdominal pain right side. She had blood taken and they told her that her white blood count was elevated 12.6. Her pain seems better now than earlier. I m concerned that it may be her appendix. Would the pain lessen if it was appendix.
Hi there, Thanks for using HCM. The symptoms of appendicitis are right lower abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and fever. When you press over the right lower abdomen , there would be severe tenderness. The white cell count would be high as in your daughter's case. The diagnosis can be confirmed with an ultrasound scan or a CT scan of the abdomen. Milder forms would resolve with medications. Severe forms may need removal of appendix. Is this answer helpful?
