Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am trying to figure out what to do. I have never been pregnant before I have irregular periods and PCOS. I have been having a few symptoms of pregnancy such as bloating, fatigue, cramps almost like period cramps, headache, I've even had some nasea. I took a test and the first one came out positive then I took another to double check and it came out negative. am I pregnant?!
Hello thanks for writing in. The best time to test for a pregnancy is the week after a missed period, but with irregular cycles, it can be difficult to decide when is it a good time to test. However, a positive test is rarely (not impossible) incorrect. Hope you have followed the test instructions properly. Since you have got two different results, I would suggest you wait a day and test again, preferably with a morning sample of urine. Alternatively you can go for a pelvic ultrasound - that would confirm a pregnancy for sure. Hope this is helpful. All the best.
