Hi I live in the UK and I was scratched slightly under by knee by a dog two days ago. YesterdayI got a sore throat and headache and feel confused is this rabies or nothing? I can t have the flu cause I had the flu 2 weeks ago and it went just last week. help do I have rabies or any infection from the dog?
Hello dear, Understand your concern. I think it is symptoms of flue. t usually takes four to 12 weeks for a person to develop rabies symptoms once they’re infected. Please note initial symptoms of rabies: fever headache feeling generally unwell feeling scared or anxious
Further symptoms include:aggressive behaviour, hallucinations, agitation and producing lots of saliva
You should take medical advice and take vaccine : If you're bitten or scratched by an animal, particularly a dog. You can also catch rabies if you have an open wound that is licked by an infected animal.
Hope this may help you. Best regards Dr. Sagar
