How would I know if I have a infection sepsis? I do have kidney stones and the Hi, I would like to know if I have a sepsis infection. I do have kidney stones, 2 have passed, but there is one stuck in the kidney. I am running a fever(101) and do have considerable pain in my back and side. My urine is the color of cranberry juice. This has gone on since July 22nd. The ER doc recommended immediate surgery, but my primary and urologist do not seem concerned. I am scheduled for surgery next week (Wed.), but I am weak and in pain.
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Sepsis occurs when chemicals released into the bloodstream to fight an infection trigger inflammatory responses throughout the body.Symptoms may include: -body temperature above 101 F (38.3 C) or below 96.8 F (36 C), -Heart rate higher than 90 beats a minute -Respiratory rate higher than 20 breaths a minute This condition could originate from any systemic bacterial infection.Urinary stone in place and not yet treated is a risk factor for bacterial urinary tract infection and if neglected may result in sepsis.Stone even without an infection may also give you fever. Urinary stone in place for long may compromise kidney functioning.I will suggest you see your Doctors again for an earlier evaluation and surgery to prevent complications if stone can not pass. A pain drug like ibuprofen may help you in your pains while waiting on your Doctors. Hope this will help Wish you a speedy recovery
