Have I Swine Flu? I have a chesty cough with phlagme......kinda high temperature however symptoms are controlled well under paracetemol. Crucially I have no vomitting, I have a good appetite also. Is it Swine Flu, Seasonal Flu or just a very bad cold Thanks
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. H1N1 is a subtype of the influenza A virus. It is also known as swine flu. Symptoms include: Fever, chills, body ache, cough, congestion, headache, sore throat starting about 18-72 hours after exposure. However, if there is appearance of fresh symptoms or if the fever does not come under control, you need to be isolated and treated after confirmation of H1N1 infection. Otherwise, if it is due to common viral infection, it should subside on its own with the medications you are taking. The best way to prevent swine flu is by getting vaccinated each year. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
