What Are The Symptoms Of Vertigo?

I believe I have vertigo but not real sure, because I ve never experienced how I m currently feeling! I woke up this morning very disoriented and tired - things were kind of spinning. Once I was up for the morning, I noticed what I was experiencing when I work up earlier was still an issue. Just very disoriented, weak, and kind of shaky. If I look down the floor spins. I took my BP and that was okay - 117/78. I have been having some sinus issues - blood when I blow my nose (which is better) and dry sinus passages, which was probably what was causing my nose to bleed. My fingers have been feeling puffy today as well. Was wondering if I could be dehydrated, but I drink nothing but water - so far today, I ve drank 66 ounces of smart water, 2 regular bottles of water and a Powerade.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

vertigo is a common problem and has many causes most of which are benign.as you havent mentioned your age,i will list few probable causes rather than a specific one.
1)vestibular apparatus(inner ear) dysfunction
2)any space occupying lesion/mass in brain
3)autonomic dysfunction as occurs in diabetes uncontrolled
as you mentioned, blood pressure is in normal limits.for the time being, you can start using tab.betahistine 16mg once daily for 1 week or meclizine 12.5mg once daily for 1 week.canalith repositioning procedure is very effective and non invasive and has a success rate of 95% in experienced hands.you need to see an ENT specialist for this vestibular rehabilitation procedure.if your symptoms do not come down or intensify or other new ones like loss of consciousness, severe weakness of limbs appear, immediately consult a physician just to rule out any central nervous system and heart diseases.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
