Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I got my second ACL reconstruction two weeks and two days ago now. I am getting random pins and needles and some pain on the top of my foot, and wanted to know if this is normal. It is not constant, but most frequent when laying in bed. Any idea if this is normal?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Pins and needle sensation is associated with involvement of nerve. A recent history of surgery can be the cause of pins and needle sensation due to compression or involvement of nerve. I suggest you to consult your orthopedician for clinical assessment. Nerve compression usually disappears within few days after surgery. However, a clinical assessment is necessary to rule out any other cause of these symptoms. The ACL reconstruction does not seem to be associated with the symptoms.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
