General & Family Physician, Dr. Shalini's Response
Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic!
A granuloma is an inflamation of tissue which is usualy non cancerous. Most granulomas are usualy found when x rays are performed for unrelated reasons.
It is important that You determine the cause of your granuloma by doing relevant tests.Granulomas can be caused due to several reasons like fungal infections,tb ,sarcoidosis, syphilis, crohns, berrylosis or wegners granulomatosis.
You could Do a few examinations like a sputum examination, blood ace levels, blood tests do detect syphillis.Several advanced tests are there wlike bal and lung biopsy which You can do after consulting a physician and getting a chest examination.
The risk due to xray is minimal but try to avoid unnessary exposure.
Hope I have answered Your questions
