My sister is 79 years, diabetic, and is unable to have proper sleep and rest. She is awakened repeatedly, during sleep,nightly, by restless leg syndrome, and symptoms such as creepy, crawly, tingling sensations in lower extremeties. Her current medication is Diamicron, half to one tab. Please advise.

Most important is proper control of blood sugar. Leg and foot are amongst the target organ involved. Peripheral neuritis involve foot. Burning sensation may make it restless. Blood sugar is to be mantained, can be given neurobion injection and antioxidant tablet. Physical activity like morning walk is to be regular. Life style is to be changed with proper diet will control it. Lead a stress free life.
