What Are The Upcoming Complications After Being Prescribed With Steroids For Drooping Of Face After Jaw Anaesthesia?
Hi I had local anesthesia injected one week ago into bottom left side of my mouth so the dentist could fill in small filing between gum and tooth. One week later my mouth is still drooping , but it droops on the other side where I did not have injection. He has given me 6 days worth of a steroid because I had a very beautiful and symmetrical smile and am very worried he caused permanent damage to my mouth and smile. My jaw was in a lot of pain, but that has subsided after one week. Still hurts, but 85% better. YYYY@YYYY

Actually when there is paralysis of left side the left side will be expressions less and you will feel like when you are smiling or giving any expression drooping of right side.
According to me you should visit another dentist for the diagnosis and also get a full mouth x-ray done for proper examination.

Please do not worry, watch for one more week.It should heal and the jaw should become normal by then.
During dental procedure some of the nerve fibers do get injured thus causing such symptoms.But they do get corrected ,once the nerve regenerates.
Therefore in my view you should watch for a week and then if required report to your dentist.
