What Are The Uses Of Hcg 5000 Injection?

Hi..For the past 5 months i was in treatment for pregancy..i am having mild pcod.this month i am taking the tablet ova shield and doing follicular study and at 14th day i am having 3 follicles with 16mm each and took HCG 5000 injection..my doubt is what is the use of taking this injection as already the egg sizes are 16mm and do my 3 eggs get fertilize..what is the chance for fertilizing one egg alone..

The size of follicle should be around 19-20 mm on day 14-15 at least to rupture and release ovum ( ova ).
In your case the size is 16 mm ,but which day ?
As three follicles are maturing ,so future course of action depend on maturation of all these or one or two of them .
HCG or human chorionic gonadotrophin 5000 IU stimulates production of gonadal steroids by stimulating CORPUS LUTEUM to produce progesterone to stabilize fertilized ovum .
So your doctor advise this to maintain pregnancy if conception occurs.
