Hi im a 19 year old male, i eat more than enough to gain weight but i am underweight and dont seem to put on any weight at all. I weigh only 9 stone and im about 5 foot 10. Will i ever gain weight and is there a way my GP could slow my motbolism down?
Weight gain can be achieved by increasing calorie intake from food and drink and decreasing energy loss from activity (would cause weight loss).
Increased calorie intake can be achieved by: (1)increase frequency of meals by using high calorie snacks between main meals (2)increase in portion sizes of meals (3)also increasing calorie value of meals by adding dressings/butter/oils/peanut butter
I hope this helps
