What Are The White Headed Bumps On Child's Body Prior To Fever?

My two year old son is coming down from a 36 hour fever. He had red bumps with white heads on them prior to the fever and continues to have them. What may this be? The bumps are in his butt crack, on his feet, wrist and face. There are not very many of them at this point. He is itching the bumps on his wrist.
