What Bite Causes Itchiness And Numbness In The Arm?

After playing in the backyard , amongst many trees & other debris , my 10 year old daughter has 4 bites on her arm which initially were itchy , became inflamed , have an opening on the surface & feel numb. We have been to the doctor received antibiotics and a cream however we are now concerned about the numbing as this was not mentioned to the GP. Does she need a blood test , are there any other precautions we need to do.

Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like contact dermatitis , insect bite , nerve dysfunction or side effects of a medicine . I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may order certain test like skin patch test or allergy test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants along with anti inflammatory and corticosteroid ointment . Doctor may also give adrenaline shot in seever case or antidote in case of animal bite with poison .
