Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Can I Do About Ankle Pain That Has Progressed Into Leg Pain That Becomes Extremely Unbearable After Walking A Short Distance?
My ankle started hurting in August. It has progressed to my leg. If I walk just 100 ft. It hurts but, I have excriciating pain when I stop walking for about 15 minutes. Tendonitis ruled out, vascular ruled out Fx rules out and blood clot.Helo the pain is 15 on a 1-10 scale.
Your symptoms could be related to a bulging disc in the lumbar vertebral column or an arterial issue. For this reason, I recommend consulting with a neurologist for a physical exam and performing a lumbar spine MRI. A Doppler ultrasound of the leg arteries will be needed too.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
