Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Swelling And Tenderness In The Lower Back?
Swelling and tender lower back top of buttocks center with pretty bad right leg pain from groin all the way down to ankle. Pain pretty severe at times and worse when sitting, eases some when I stand. Just noticed lump/swelling today at lower back center. Left leg pain sometimes, right leg pain most of the time, very uncomfortable.
Doing an MRI of the lumbar spine is advised to see the soft tissue status in the lumbar spine. The symptoms guide towards the nerve root entrapment.
With exercises like - core stability, spinal muscle strengthening exercises, hip muscle strengthening exercises and lower limb strengthening exercises will help improve the muscle strength and also improve the overall function.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
