What Can I Do About The Rashes I Got On My Face After Using Fucidin In The Nose For Staphylococcus?

Hello, I used fucidin in the nose for a staphylococcus but after several days, I started to have rash in the face and mainly around the nose. I then stopped the fucudun. 4 months after, I still have rash in the face that come and disappear (it can be like a red line or a a red spot that disappear). It heats up when it happens but it does not scratch. Any advice of what I can do to stop that ? Thank you very much

Hello,

Fucidin should not be used for more than a week. Prolonged usage may cause side effects or allergy reaction of the skin like skin rashes, skin irritation, hypersensitivity or urticaria, etc. You are suggested to take care of your skin, keep it clean, wash it with a mild herbal face wash. Apply water-based moisturizer. Avoid any kind of makeup, do not apply any type of beauty products.

Let your skin breathe and avoid direct exposure to sunlight. To get rid of allergic reaction, you can take antihistamine at bedtime. You can apply a thin layer of Soframycin ointment at bedtime. You can take a course of doxycycline-100 mg for clear complexion. Avoid taking spicy oily food and red meat for a couple of days.

Do not touch your face every now and then and avoid wearing metals or nickel jewelry that may flare up your symptoms. Do not scratch as it will dark spots. Take more of fruits and veggies and keep yourself well hydrated.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
