I can understand your concern for recurrent cold sores on nose.
Cold sores or also known as herpes simplex is caused by herpes simplex virus type 1 mainly and less commonly by type 2. The biggest of the problem with the cold sores is its recurrent nature of problem. Once infected it continues to recur indefinitely. Till now there is no antiviral tablet or therapy which can completely eradicate it.
If there are more than 3-4 episodes in a year then we prefer to give a prophylactic therapy of antiviral tablets such as acyclovir or famcyclovir or valacyclovir. For the prevention of recurrence of the cold sore a long term antiviral tablet acyclovir or famcyclovir or valacyclovir in prophylactic dose can be taken under dermatological advise.
Reduce your stress of any type and eat the healthiest diet to improve your immunity.
Take care
