What Can I Do To Acclimatize To Altitude Change Quickly?

We just moved from Nebraska to Colorado and I ve been having dizzy spells quite often. We were back in Nebraska last week and had no problem with dizziness. An hour after returning to Colorado it started again. I m running a 10k in 2 weeks and my training has been horrible. Is there anything I can do (without prescription drugs) to help myself acclimate to the altitude quicker? Thanks!

Hi dear. Thanks for writing on HCM.
If the altitude is high then I were to suggest Tab.Diamox 250mg twice daily for 1 or 2days.But as long as you are on the medication you may feel sleepy and bit of tiredness due to potassium loss.If you are a runner/athlete I would not recommend.Driving vehicles and other activities which need fine motor control are cautioned.Hope this answers your query.
