Hello,
Avoid doing heavy work and avoid bending for a couple of days. Such symptoms occur due to sprain, ligament or
tendon inflammation or tear, underlying medical conditions like arthritis,
degenerative arthritis of the spine,
spinal stenosis,
herniated disk, etc. If your pain starts in your back and moves or radiates toward your hip or down your leg, or you have numbness, tingling or weakness, sciatica is the most likely the cause.
Stay at rest, get massage done with pain relieving ointment. You can apply Volini spray on the affected area for relief. Take naproxen or NSAIDS, one stat when needed after food. It will help to relieve pain and discomfort. You are advised to get clinically examined by a GP, get X-ray done to rule out any fracture or bony abnormalities.
Get CT scan done to get a picture of the
spinal cord and nerves. If required, MRI will be done to study the irritated nerves. An MRI can show the alignment of vertebral disks, ligaments, and muscles. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
