Hi,
Thanks for the query.
The possible causes for irregular periods are :
- Hormonal imbalance as in poly cystic ovary disease, weight changes, stress and strain etc.
-Thyroid hormonal abnormalities
- Prolactin levels abnormalities
- General conditions like anemia, nutritional deficiency, diabetes etc.
If your doctor ruled out PCOD after doing ultrasound, then you may not be having that problem.
After taking progesterone tablets to induce withdrawal bleeding, sometimes it may take 7 to 10 days to get the withdrawal bleeding.
If you do not get withdrawal bleeding even after 10 days of taking the tablets, once consult gynecologist and go for investigations like :
- Hemoglobin levels
-Blood sugar levels
-Thyroid hormonal profile
- Prolactin levels estimation etc.
With this workup the possible cause for your problem can be identified and treated.
Take care.
