What Can Be Done For Skipping Heart Beat?

Hello. I can feel my heart skipping a beat. It doesn't happen all the time but when it happens I notice. There is no pain associated with it. Is there a need for me to have this checked out by a doctor. I was told I had an irregular heart beat in 1997 but there wasn't a need for alarm.

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I really appreciate your concern looking to the history given the exact pathophysiology need to be investigated for the skip beat some it is not pathological in origin and in such condition nothing can be done and this would cause no harm, if this is due to some pathology then it is to be treated accordingly, in my opinion complete cardiac evaluation is needed, hope this information helps you, take care and have a nice day.
