Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for your query
I need to see your feet x ray picture before give my advice. Meanwhile the cause of your suffering seems to be weight and osteoporosis.Regading this once a month pill of Ibandronate, weekly dose of vitamin D 60k and calcium helps.
You may discuss with your doctor regarding this and removal of pin can be planned.
I shall be glad to answer any further query of yours (http://bit.ly/drmchugh).
Take care
