What Can Be Done To Close The Hole On The Foot?

My Son had a stubborn wart on the heel of his foot. Freezing wouldn't work so the doctor suggested that he cut it out using laser like tool. The wart cam off however even after three days there is a large hole where the wart was removed. I would say the hole is about 2mm deep and about 8 - 10mm diameter. We are applying antiseptic daily to prevent infection upon the doctor's advice. Will the hole remain or will it eventually close?
I don't mind a scar on my son's heel but a hole looks worse than the wart. Please let me know if the hole will eventually close up and if not then what can be done to close the hole.
