What Can Be Side Effects Of Overuse Of Polysporin Heal Fast?
I am 70 years old. I have been using Polysporin heal fast formula with 2 antibiotics two times in my nose for the last six months . Have I overused it? What damage it might have caused. I used it as per doctor,s advice after a nose bleed. Kindly advise. Thanks I am having cold and cough for the last two months and suddenly realised it may have some connectiion .

You have been using Polysporin heal fast for a period of six months. Presently, you are experiencing symptoms of cough and cold. Long term use of Polysporin heal fast can also cause difficulty swallowing, dizziness, itching, skin rash, fast heart beat, hives, itching, puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue, unusual tiredness or weakness, etc. You have overused it and hence experiencing side effects.
You can take non-sedating antihistamines, once daily for 5 days to help the symptoms get controlled. Keep cough lozenges in your mouth to stop coughing. Take sips of water and fluids throughout the day. You are suggested to gargle your throat with warm salt water 3-4 times a day. Give voice rest and take liquid or semi solid food so that you don't hurt your throat. Stay away from addictions if any and take warm beverages.
