What Can Be Taken To Relieve The Throbbing Pain And Swelling In Leg?

I ve been experiencing for a week now a throbbing pain on my left side of my right leg. It looks a bit swollen and hurts at the touch. My primary physician has suggested I see a PT. I have an appointment with them on March 5th of MARCH. Anything I can take to relieve the pain so I can get some sleep?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
hello ,
from your symptoms it looks to me that this could be nerve compression at your back, which is causing such severe pain. Are you feeling any numbness also as it may be usual association. My advice to you is to get MRI of spine first. This will give us extent of disease. If nerve compression is mild than physiotherapy will help. But if compression is high than you need to see orthopaedic surgeon. For pain relief i can suggest you pain killers like gabapentin and diclofenec.
