What Can Be The Cause Of Diarrhea And Pain In Lower Abdomen?

Diarrhea for three days started with pain in the lower abdomen the pain is now high into the rib cage. Very sharp pains no nausea except for the first day. No coughing, no fever, loss of appetite, after eating there is sharp stomach pain from side to side followed shortly by diarrhea.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of sharp pain in the lower abdomen started 3 days ago and now high into the rib cage, without nausea, coughing, fever or loss of appetite.
There is sharp stomach pain after eating followed shortly by diarrhea.
The commonest causes as per the history I can think of are:
Gastritis or Gastro-enteritis.
Irritable bowel syndrome , IBS as is commonly called as.
I would advise you the following:
Take a PPI like Omeprazole and Antacid orally.
Send stool for tests to get appropriate diagnosis and get treated if there is an evidence of infection.
Also get the tests of blood and urine and ultrasonography.
IF the medical management fails to resolve the issue, get an opinion of a Gastroenterologist and further tests like Upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy and CT scan to get the further diagnosis and management to get a cure.
