What Can Be The Reason For The Hole Near The Anus?

I am 58 year-old female. Past history of 3 polyps found in colon during colonoscopy, about 7 years ago. Most recent colonoscopy 2 years ago, nothing was found. I also have a history of a fissure at 9 o'clock, which has not been a problem lately. I did have some blood in my stools about 1-2 weeks ago, and then I noticed this area at 5 o'clock that felt dry, like a healing sore. Tonight I finally looked at it with a mirror, and I have a little hole near my anus, about the size of a silver nitrate stick. I did not see a discharge of any sort. Any suggestions?

General Surgeon 's  Response
could be a healed fistula tract or a fistulous track that is starting. monitor your bowel movements, if you notice blood, if you notice worsening pain, swelling, redness, drainage etc from the anus or hole. if you notice the above, this may need surgical evaluation for removal
