What Can Cause Abortions And Abnormalities In Pregnancy?

Hi, my wife is 23 years old, she got pregnant during August 2010, but unfortunately there was a miscarriage because as per sonography the fetus's heart beat stopped. She conceived again in May 11 but it was tubal pregnancy and her right tube had to be taken out. Please advise us a way out from this problem. thanks

Hello dear
Understand your concern
Following are the cause of repeated abortion: Chromosomal abnormalities, diabetes, antiphospholipid antibody syndrome, idiopathic (in 40-45 percent case cause is not known), bleeding disorder, hormonal deficiencies, auto immune disorder like lupus, cervical incompetence and uterine anomalies.
You have to consult the gynecologist and fetal medicine specialist to diagnose above causes after following investigations: blood sugar, hormonal analysis, karyotyping of both partner, APLA screning, PT, APTT, CBC, ESR, USG, hysteroscopy, antibodies like anti ds DNA and antimitochondrial antibody.
Be positive, pregnancy is possible in many cases after repeated abortion.
Regular follow up will be required and doctor may provide aspirin, low molecular heparin, progesterone and HCG injection.
Hope this may help you
Best regards
Dr. Sagar
