What Can Cause Appetite Loss, dizziness And A Deep Notch On The Right Side Of Lower Abdomen?

My brother has pain in his lower abdomen, and has lost a lot of weight, due to the fact his stomach hurts when he eats and suffers from dizziness. He also has an indentation on the right side of his lower abdomen in the stomach area, his doctor claimed it was an ulcer and put him on medication for that, but the symptoms persisted, what is this??

Hi, the commonest cause of the symptoms you describe is increased acidity in the stomach or first part of the intestines called duodenum. If acid reducing medicines are not helping, and he continues to lose weight, I would advise --a routine CBC, ESR, stool examination, and if needed an abdomino pelvic sonography and Gastroscopy to rule out other causes. Regards
