Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello, sometimes randomly (once a month or two) but more recently often (once or twice a week) I get a pain in the middle of my chest it s dull but very intense, it strangely makes pain in my right jaw and temple, and I can feel a weird burning in the back of my throat that for lack of a better phrase feels metallic like I just licked a battery. it lasts forever unless I drink water but as soon as I drink the water the pain and other symptoms disspate immediately and I can feel something going on at the source of the pain as the water passes through almost like a bubbling sensation.also, during the pain and for a short time after I find myself gassy needing to fart and burp. the fact it s happening more often is causing concern. thanks for anything you can do.
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Its likely that you have GERD (gastroesophageal reflux diseases) and if its long standing than a person can get esophagitis (inflammation of food pipe) but its important that you should have workup for any cardiac cause of pain. As it could be life threating . I suggest you should have ECG,ETT (exercise tolerance testing ,its like having an ecg while patient is jogging on treadmail). You should avoid smoking, caffeine, spicy foods and binge eating. Take small meals and frequent meals, you should have dinner atleast 02 hrs before going to bed . Medications like PPIs (omeprazole) will also help. Hope I have answered your query. If you have any qustion feel free to ask. Wish you good health.
