I have a hard painless pea sized lump on the mastoid bone behind my ear. Appears to be in the location of the retroauricular gland/node. It has been there for several months. Noticed it is getting slightly bigger in the last week. What might cause this. Could it have anything to do with my auditory canal or inner ear? Should I see an ENT to diagnose.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of lymph nodes behind the ear which is due to post auricular lymph node infection, acute mastoiditis, and dermoid cyst. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist once and get investigation done by FNAC biopsy. Start treatment after proper examination. You should take proper course of antibiotic as well. Avoid touching or pricking bumps with sharp object. You can go for incision and drainage as well. Apply warm compresses several times a day and do not pick them.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
