What Can Cause Pain And Discomfort In The Lower Back Region?

I have pain/discomfort in the front of my right leg shooting downward from what seems to be somewhere in the hip region. Sometimes I think it is originating somewhere in my lower back on the right side. What do you think might be causing is? My yoga teacher thinks it might have to do with the Soaz muscle...

It is possible , as you mentioned, that the pain may be related to the lower back. The nerves that pass in between the bones of the lower back supply different aspects of the legs.
This means that injuries of the lower back could result in pain and in abnormal sensations in the legs.

Inflammation or injury to the muscles such as the psoas muscle can cause pain.

The only way to determine the source of the pain would be to be assessed by your doctor. This would include the history and physical examination of the pain.
