What Can Cause Pain In The Palms And Stiffness In The Hands?

Kiwi thin two weeks my hands went from 0 to 10 in pain with pain in my palms and veins popping up high on my top of hands and a long vein form my left thumb about 4 inches up my arm. The pain subsides and veins go back to normal and then it starts up again. My fingers hurt hard to open lids and carry plates. It seems to calm and then I will go to pick up a pill and ma baby finger in my right hand flinches with pain. My hands are stiff and the cycle goes on. If I lift my arms up the blood in my veins helps to minimize the size of the veins but I can still see the outline of the Vernon my left arm. I am frightened.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The pain in palms and especially on working with the hand can be related to tendonitis. Rest and mild pain killers can help. Carpal tunnel syndrome needs to be ruled out.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Praveen Tayal,
