What Can Cause Scratchy Throat,headaches,light Headedness And Coughing?

my husband and I both came down with the same symptoms yesterday, almost at the same time. scratch throat (very scratchy), headaches, light headed, at times relentless coughing, and my husband says his body aches, mine doesn't feel as bad. I feel if I could get rid of the scratchy throat, I'd feel better. the temperature here changed from 50's & 60's to the 80's. some wind. what could it be?

Understanding your concern. As per your query scratchy throat, headaches, light hotheadedness and coughing is because of common cold also known as flu which is due to respiratory tract infection. You should do warm saline gargles with luke warm water. Avoid intake of excessive oily, fried food and cold carbonated beverages. You should take antibiotic such as Levofloxacin for 5-7 days. Take antihistamine drug to prevent further infection. Give proper rest to body. Try to sip hot liquids such as tea , coffee to give warmness to throat area. Take Ibuprofen for pain and fever along with acetaminophen. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined to find out exact cause of your condition. Get blood tests done and start treatment.
