What Can Cause Soreness,pain And Swelling Around Nipple?

My 15 year old son has had a sudden onset of single nipple pain and swelling. The area on the top feels abnormal and hard and there is a slight red halo around the nipple. Does not feel warm to the tough but I am concerned about possible infection. Please advise.

Hello, I suggest that you have him seen by a doctor as this could be an infection and he may need antibiotics. In the meantime have him use some warm compresses on the nipple.
