What Can Cause Stomach Pain Along With Loose Motions In A Child?
Dear Doctor, My daughter aged 6 years is complaining about stomach pain for the last 3-4 days. She feels pain just for 1-2 minutes and behave normal after that. Yesterday our Pediatric Doctor prescribed Junior Lanzol 15mg. My daughter consumed on tablet yesterday. Today she is suffering from loose motion with some gum spots in discharge (loose stools) and again complaining stomach pain. Kindly advise can she use JUNIOR LANZOL 15mg again? Thanks & Regards, BashaMSP
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. It seems your kid is having acute watery diarrhea. Unless the kid's having low urine output or very dull or excessively sleepy or blood in motion or green bilious vomiting...you need not worry. But by what you describe I feel she has got the cramps classical of bacillary dysentery or bacterial infection of the gut. Antibiotics might be required. I would prefer to prescribe Cefixime for 5 days. I suggest you use zinc supplements & ORS...Kindly consult your paediatrician for dosing. Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health. Dr. Sumanth MBBS., DCH., DNB (Paed).,
