What Can Cause Swollen Lymph Node Along With Body Rashes In Child?

my 9mo old son started getting feverish sun. am (101) and only ~ fussy. giving tylenol/motrin brings fever down to ~99. he vomited once sun evening. i noted swollen lymph nodes on back of neck going up scalp. today has a rash all over body-light pink, each spot ~1-2mm in size, slightly raised in areas. temp still maintaining ~99. seems ok other than eating ~less than normal. we were just going to watch him, but should we take him into our pediatrician. any ideas?!

Hi.. does the child have cough, cold or earache or ear discharge? Where did the rash appear first? At 9months such presentation may be likely due to measles or viral exanthem. You can watch the child at home but I would like to know that are there any small children at your home? If so then measles can occur in them if they are not immunized. Also this baby should also be given vitamin A drops. Anytime you feel that the child has high grade fever, non fading or worsening rash or other danger sign you should go to the pediatrician. Otherwise it will be self limiting rash.keep watch and you can get in touch anytime you feel for your queries.
