What Can Causes Fever, sore Throat And Lack Of Energy?

I had a cardioversion for Afib on Tuesday. Prior to the procedure the physician did the scope down my throat to check for clots. Finding none, they went away with the procedure. Now I have a fever, very sore throat and lack of energy. Should I be worried?

Hi,

There are several possible causes of fever, sore throat, and lack of energy. One possibility is that you may have developed an infection following your cardioversion procedure, particularly if a scope was used to check for clots. This could include a bacterial infection such as strep throat, or a viral infection such as the flu.

Another possibility is that these symptoms are related to the procedure itself, such as irritation or inflammation of the throat or airways. This can cause a sore throat and other symptoms and may require treatment to relieve discomfort.

In some cases, fever, sore throat, and lack of energy can also be symptoms of more serious conditions such as pneumonia, meningitis, or sepsis. If your symptoms persist or worsen, it is important to see a healthcare provider for an evaluation. They can perform a physical exam and order any necessary tests to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms and recommend the appropriate treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
