What Can Severe Vaginal Itching Be After Periods With Discharge With Change In Size Of Clitoris And Labia Minora In A 16 Years Old Female With Type 1 Diabetes?

After my period finished, my right labia minora and the area around the clitoris got very itchy so I scratched them a lot. After 20 minutes, I notice that my right labia minora and the clitoris had got bigger, my labia minora was 4 times its normail size!!! I panicked!! But to my surprise, the next day it had almost returned to its normail size, and that night everything was ok. But the next morning both my right and left labia minora got smaller that they were, so as the clitoris, and I've been having these vaginal discharges all the time, I didn't have so many in the past, these discharges are happening the last two days. The thing is I don't know what's going on, and I'm afraid that this might be something serious. Also I have diabetics type 1, I'm 16 btw and I've never had any sexual intercourse.

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.

The symptoms explained by you denote that you are suffering from Vulvo-vaginitis due to yeast (candidal) infection. It is predisposed and flared up by Diabetes Mallitus.
During your periods the pH of the vagina would be little alkaline and yeast would be under control and once the acidic normal pH established, once again it gets flared up.
Treatment for yeast is not very difficult.
1. A tight control of Diabetes is a must.
2. Anti-fungal creams and oral tablets for 3- 4 weeks will cure your problem.
Consult your physician or Gynecologist and confirm the diagnosis and she will help you for the treatment.
Get well soon.
