What Care Can Be Taken For Infection In The Nose Causing Crusting And Scabbing?

I have an infection in my nose that started over two months ago. I have dpbeen taking methicillin for almos moth along with a cream called taro mupirocin. Why is this not better. I get crusting and scabbing in my nostril and I m at the point that I can t leave it alone. Can you suggest what I can do.

Hi,

Noted your history about nasal crusting and scabbing for almost 2 months and still not getting better in spite of medications it looks from your history.
I think the cause may most probably be related to the following:
Sinusitis giving discharge that is causing secondary rhinitis and thus the crusting and scabbing.
Another reason can be related to a primary reason called Atrophic Rhinitis in which the blood supply to the nasal mucosa related structures.
Hence I would advise you the following as Methicillin and local Taro Mupirocin is not working.
Consult an ENT Surgeon for clinical evaluation and ENT Endoscopy to know the possible cause and get another investigations as per the findings.
You may need CT scan of the nose.
Tests of blood and other things as may be needed.
All these things will find the cause and get you treated accordingly.
