What Casues Numbness On The Left Side Of The Mouth?

Hello I m a little worried. My 14 year old daughter just informed me that the left side of her mouth has gone numb a few times in the last 4-5 hours for about 15 seconds each time. She also said that she s experiencing a hot tingling sensation. What could be the cause and how worried should I be? Please help and Thank you!

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your complain numbness and tingling sensation in any one side of mouth can occur commonly due to nerve related problems like compression over the nerve caused by any artery or tooth abscess..

It can be related to Vitamin B12 deficiencies..
Another common cause can be due to disturbances in the functioning if Trigeminal Nerve and it's branches..

Consult a Neurophysician and get her evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like MRI scan can be done to rule out the cause and treatment can be done accordingly..

Hope this helps..

Regards .
