What is wrong with me, I catch colds, flues very easy and cold lasts a month and flu even longer. Always starts with stuffed nose, sneezing and totally stuffed head with sinus pressure that makes me feel like I can only breathe thru my mouth. After a week or two from the onset all stuff drips down to my throat and lower, that almost always ends with bronchitis lasting for few weeks. I am very week for few weeks and my body is a wreck after each epizode and takes me few more weeks to recover. Please help ,I am loosing a lot of my lifetime as I go thru this since I was a child. It is not obvious what is the cause of your frequent illnesses, but one thing I would be sure to check for, especially since you have had these problems since childhood, is to make sure you are checked for any immunodeficiencies, especially ones that cause frequent respiratory infections.
I would also make sure you have all the proper vaccines, such as for pneumococcus and influenza.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Aaron Branch, General & Family Physician
