What Cause Blister On Top Of Finger With Clear Discharge?

Senior citizen - has a blister (not watery) next to nail on top of right middle finger. On pin-prick, the blister on purging emits a CLEAR glue-like substance (for lack of better description - cheese that stretches on a pizza). After pin-prick draining, the clear slightly thick substance returns and appears to be continual. After draining, applying peroxide, alcohol and neosporin does not stop recurrence. There appear to be no other symptoms. Any thoughts medical or otherwise on eliminating the blister

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I think it's a pustule. Please try applying a topical antibiotic like fusidic acid or mupirocin on it twice daily. Also, I would suggest you to stop pricking the blister to stop getting it more infected.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sruthi Chelikani, General & Family Physician
