What Causes A Painful White Blister On The Back Of The Throat?

I found a single painful white based blister with a red surrounding border on the back of my throat. My doctor prescribed me with an antiviral medicine to try and manage the blister. Now the blister has grown and there is a single bright red painful vein coming from off the blister

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of painful white blister on the back of the throat which could be due to poor immunity of your body and viral/ bacterial infection. Need not to worry.

I would suggest you to :-

- Maintain complete oral hygiene.

- Do warm saline rinses several times a day.

- Avoid oily and fried food.

- Apply orabase gel on white blister.

If symptoms keeps on persisting you should consult ENT specialist for proper examination to find out the exact cause. Doctor may order blood test, throat swab test and may prescribe antibiotics and anti allergic medications.
