What Cause Blood Not To Come On Pricking?

Today, i had a blood test taken but i did not have enough blood coming out. The nurse had to squeeze my finger and she did tell me i might be dehyrdated. I am just curious if there might be any other reasons to it too. Age 21 height 5ft 1inch weight 115lbs

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Not enough deep prick is most common cause.
2. Vasoconstriction secondary to cold environment or low volume leading on to dehydration could cause this.
3. Take plenty of fluids to maintain adequate hydration. No other evaluation necessary. Deeper prick needed next time, in colder environment.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
I find this answer helpful
